Notably, Fashion helped her win the Best Actress National Film Award.
Priyanka Chopra revealed in a previous interview with Dax Shepherd on the Armchair Expert podcast that she worked with director Madhur Bhandarkar to create Fashion. And that the movie altered the way she approached her work. The actress commented that she experienced a sense of control over her actions for the first time, which significantly altered her approach to work after that. Her past has taught her valuable life lessons. She understood how important it was for her to take charge of her career and select these kinds of roles. Or else she would become obscure in the male-dominated Hindi film industry. The actress revealed that they spent six months working on the script and that taking on the film proved to be a career-defining decision for her.
Priyanka revealed that she had heard from people that heroines pick films like these when they want to win a national award or when their careers are coming to an end. She made this revelation in an interview with YouTuber Prajakta Koli. “Everyone told me that I wouldn’t get another job if this film failed,” she recalled, but she chose to go ahead and make the movie.
