Priyanka Chopra recently spoke openly with The Zoe Report about her experience working on a film in which she played an undercover role. She called the encounter a “dehumanizing moment” and announced her intention to leave the project. This revelation provides insight into the difficulties that performers experience in the industry.
She recalls, “This may have been 2002 or ’03… I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy – obviously, that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I’m seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing (at a time). I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise, why is anybody coming to watch this movie?”
She added, “He didn’t say it to me. He said it to the stylist in front of me. It was such a dehumanizing moment. It was a feeling of, “I’m nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important.” Two days later, Priyanka walked off the film. “I just couldn’t look at him every day,” Priyanka said about the director.
Furthermore, Priyanka Chopra recently spoke out about her choice to leave Bollywood, blaming it on feeling surrounded by people. She also expressed her disapproval of the industry’s politics. Priyanka has been actively engaging with the media through interviews while promoting her new program, and sharing insights into her personal path and professional endeavors.
In other news, Priyanka also drew attention when she appeared as a guest on Alexandra Cooper’s podcast, only to be met with nasty remarks about her and Nick Jonas’ relationship with the presenter.
Alexandra controversially identifies Priyanka as a lesbian and slams the couple for their open adoration for one other during the now-deleted episode. Priyanka, unfazed by the controversy, continues to pursue her blooming career in entertainment, most recently in the wonderful romantic comedy-drama “Love Again,” in which she co-stars with Sam Heughan.
