Prince Harry drank six beers and tipped generously during a pre-birthday brewery celebration with Meghan Markle. Prince Harry had a great time with his bride, Meghan Markle, during their low-key pre-birthday celebration.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated Harry’s 39th birthday Thursday night at Schumacher, a German brewery in Düsseldorf, where the guests drank locally produced beer and ate traditional food. The rogue king and his entourage received meals from head waiter Frank Wackers, who has worked at the linked restaurant for nearly four decades. According to Wackers, Harry had six tiny beers while Markle, 42, drank one.
The Duo dined with their close friends and relatives
The duo and their guests dined on family-style dishes of wiener schnitzel, hog knuckle, sausage, roast, and mashed potatoes, according to the delighted server. During the meal, staff members gave the prince a white chocolate birthday cake. “They were very happy,” Wackers exclaimed. “He is a lovely man, and they were so nice.” He also said that Harry’s bodyguard, Chris Sanchez, joked that “he would kill [him] if the beer was bad.”

But the threat was all in good fun, as Sanchez enthusiastically posed for photos alongside Harry and Markle with other happy employees. The “Suits” actress donned a red pin-striped blouse tucked into slender white capris and nude flats, while the “Spare” novelist wore jeans with a gray button-down and matching boat shoes.
Thea Ungermann, the restaurant’s owner, admitted she felt “goosebumps” when the twosome stepped in and said she “couldn’t believe” they were there. The ecstatic restauranteur went on to say that the “lovely” pair appeared “very relaxed” and that Harry — who even hugged her — was having “a very jolly time.”
Ungermann made a point of noting that the father of two picked up the tab and gave a generous gratuity to the wait staff. According to a source close to Harry, the group returned to their nearby hotel “just shy of midnight” to sing him “Happy Birthday” and eat cake.
Harry and Meghan are in town for the Invictus Games, an annual international multi-sport event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and veterans, and they’ve been showing off their PDA. However, the absence of the royal’s estranged relatives from this year’s competition has not been ignored.
