PM Modi to Inaugurate Projects Worth More than Rs400Crores in Kedarnath

Inauguration of Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers in Kedarnath. He inaugurated the statue of Adi Shankaracharya. Also, he also set in motion various redevelopment programs in Uttarakhand.  While inaugurating the 12-foot statue of Guru Shankaracharya at the Kedarnath Temple, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present. PM Modi unveiled the statue and inaugurated the Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya. The samadhi has been reconstructed after its destruction in the 2013 Uttarakhand floods.

Reportedly, the projects are worth over Rs400 crores. The projects include the following:

  • Saraswati Retaining Wall Aasthapath and Ghats
  • Mandakini Retaining Wall Aasthapath
  • Tirth Purohit Houses and
  • Garud Chatti bridge on river Mandakini.

In his speech, Modi said, “that there was a time in the country when religion and spirituality were believed to be connected “only with stereotypes”. But, Indian philosophy mentions human welfare and views life in a holistic manner.  Further, he added that “Adi Shankaracharya worked to make the society aware of this truth.

Redevelopment of Kedarnath: Modi’s Dream

According to the news, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally reviews the reconstruction of Kedarpuri by himself. This project is considered his dream project.  After the 2013 destruction in Kedarnath, Modi said, “a voice within me always said that Kedarnath will be redeveloped again.”

While addressing the people of Uttarakhand, Prime Minister said, “A grand Ram Temple is being constructed in Ayodhya. Recently, deepotsav was celebrated there. Work on the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project in Varanasi is also progressing rapidly… Now, the country aims high and also sets a time limit to achieve these aims.”

In his tweet, Modi mentioned that he regularly reviewed the redevelopment programs in Uttarakhand via drones. He also thanked all the temples, Munis, and people who inspired him to establish these projects.

Devbhoomi as World’s Spiritual Capital: CM Dhami

Uttarakhand is popularly known as Devbhoomi( the land of gods). Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is Modi’s vision to build Uttarakhand as World’s Spiritual and Cultural Capital. He said that it will become a place where people across the world visit for peace.
