The upgrade was completed at a cost of Rs. 71 crore.
Surendranagar’s Pipavav Section was electrified to relieve congestion in the yards of Ahmedabad, Viramgam, and Surendranagar. The project will let freight move seamlessly from Palanpur, Ahmedabad, and other regions of the country to Pipavav Port without changing traction.
