Peaky Blinders will end with the sixth season, but the series creator has big plans on the way.
It was recently announced that Peaky Blinders, the BBC’s most successful series, will come to an end with season six. Of course, this news made fans of fiction very sad. But luckily, Steven Knight, creator of the series, revealed that he has plans to make a movie, and there will also be spin-offs derived from the film!
For those unaware, Peaky Blinders is a drama set in the 1920s in Birmingham, England, after World War I, and follows the exploits of the Shelby crime family. Since its premiere in 2013, the popularity of the series has always increased and grew much more with its arrival on Netflix. The phenomenon is so great that Steven Knight feels very confident about ending the story with a movie in the theater, he revealed to Variety.
“We are in development. It is a fully formed idea and has a beginning, middle, and end. And I think it will be a fitting conclusion to the story told so far. There will be things that I don’t really call spin-offs, but there will be other television series that I hope will be born [thanks to the film], and that will continue to tell the story of this part of society and this family ”, revealed the creator of the series.

This way, Peaky Blinders fans won’t have to worry about the future of the story. Although the sixth season will be the last, the creator has many plans on the way and the first of all would be the movie in theaters. If so, the series would end as Dowton Abbey, another hit period series that closed its doors with a movie in the theater, which was very well received at the global box office.
