Ozark Season 4: Release Date, Cast, Trailer And Other Updates On Netflix

It has been over a year now since the latest season of Ozark surfaced on Netflix, and unfortunately, it looks like we may have to wait a lot longer to see another installment. The fantastic news is that Ozark season 4 is definitely happening, but the good thing is they’re still filming. And with a new tidbit of information, we all just got now, we are not holding our breath for it to be released this year.

If you haven’t been keeping up with all the award-winning series, Ozark first came out on Netflix back in 2017, starring Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, Laura Linney as Wendy Byrde, and Julia Garner as Ruth Langmore. The first season follows the Byrde household as they abruptly pick up their lives and proceed out into the Ozarks in Missouri following a money-laundering deal goes south.

Shortly after landing on their feet again, the Byrdes are fairly quick to get back into the business, working with local drug dealers, the drug cartel, as well as the Mafia.

Ozark season 3 was met with tons of praise, and the series received four nominations in this year’s Golden Globes. At the Emmy Awards in late 2020, Garner took home the prize for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her amazing performance as the one and only Ruth.

If you’ve seen Ozark, you know it’s certainly a great watch worth getting hooked on, and lovers are desperate to find out when the fourth installment, which will mark the show’s last, will be released.

Is Ozark Season 4 Coming In 2021?

Unfortunately, it seems like there is a slim chance Ozark season 4 will come out this season. Netflix simply releases a shareholder letter on April 20, which disclosed a couple of big titles coming to the platform in 2021. They mention that the yield of shows such as Sex Education, The Witcher, Cash Heist, and You, however apparently exit Ozark. Here’s what the letter states:

We anticipate paid membership expansion will re-accelerate in the next half of 2021 as we dive into a very powerful back half masterpiece together with the return of big hits like Sex Instruction, The Witcher, La Casa de Papel (aka Money Heist), and You, as well as an exciting variety of original films including the finale to The Kissing Booth trilogy and large scale, star-driven features such as Red Notice (starring Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds) and Don’t Look Up (with an abysmal cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Timothée Chalamet, along with Meryl Streep).

Having a show as enormous as this one, you’d think Ozark season 4 will be included in Netflix’s lineup for the rest of the season when it was going to be released in 2021. From the looks of it, the final season could very well be seeing a 2022 release date. As we mentioned earlier, they are not done filming, plus this season is set to have more episodes compared to the preceding one.

Considering the fact that Ozark season 4 will be broken into two parts, but I’m confused as to why they would need to film it all before releasing the first half. Maybe since this is the final installment, they are working harder than ever to provide us an awesome storyline and performances.

In any case, I just hope to visit Ozark return sooner than later! As always, we’ll keep you updated with any new information that might come out.
