Netflix has announced in recent weeks the renewals of several series for one more season that will also serve to close their respective stories. One of them is ‘Ozark’, whose fourth season will settle the criminal history in which the Byrde marriage has been involved.
Next, we are going to review all that you know so far about season 4 of ‘Ozark‘, from where the story ended at the end of the third to the number of episodes that the fourth will have, without forgetting the launch plan Netflix is planning for this finale of the series created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams.
There are many issues that the series must clarify in this fourth season, but the first that comes to mind is the fact that the Byrde marriage is now going to have a closer relationship with the Omar Navarro cartel, who decided to “do without” Helen after seeing how the Byrdes helped him get rid of his main enemy.
In addition, Ruth’s patience with the Byrdes reached its limit and she decided to break the relationship that united them, starting from then on to collaborate with Darlene and the Kansas City mafia. Nothing good can come of it.
Let’s also not forget Wendy’s decision to sacrifice her brother Ben to get out of the trouble she had gotten them into. That’s not exactly going to sit well with her children, especially Jonah, and it is to be expected that Wendy’s personality will suffer from such a drastic decision …
There are more loose ends to tie in this final season and we hope it will be a farewell worthy of what a series as stimulating as ‘Ozark’ deserves.
The main protagonists of the series will reappear for the last time in this fourth season, that is, we will see again Jason Bateman (Marty Byrde), Laura Linney (Wendy Byrde), Julia Garner (Ruth Langmore), Sofia Hublitz (Charlotte Byrde), Skylar Gaertner (Jonah Byrde), Lisa Emery (Darlene Snell), Charlie Tahan (Wyatt Langmore) or Felix Solis (Omar Navarro).
It is to be expected that some new character will also appear or that some pre-existing ones will gain a greater presence in these final chapters of the series, but for the moment there are no more details about it.
It is still too early to talk about filming, since Bateman himself commented this past April that only the writing process usually takes 4 months. And that is with seasons of 10 episodes when the last one will be longer than usual, going up to 14 chapters that Netflix will premiere in two batches of seven each.
Hasn’t filming started and you already want a trailer? It’s time to wait and everything indicates that it will be enough, because Netflix launches the trailers of ‘Ozark’ when the filming has already finished and there is little left for the premiere.
Neither is there, but here it should be borne in mind that Bateman that the fastest they could have a season was in 12 months -four to write, six to shoot and two for post-production-, and that was in reference to one of 10 episodes. Therefore, it is certain that at least until 2021 we will not see new episodes of ‘Ozark’ and it should not surprise us if it ends up being delayed until 2022.
Let us bear in mind that between the second and the third almost 19 months passed, and in that world in which the coronavirus did not affect the production rate in the least and having to record 10 episodes instead of 14.
