Ozark returns to Netflix for Season 4 with an oversized final season. We already have a lot of information on the fourth season, including the new cast members and what to expect. Here is the latest information on what we know so far about Netflix’s Ozark Season 4.
Often rated as one of the best shows on Netflix, Ozark is a Netflix Original crime drama series created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams.
Ozark’s popularity has skyrocketed, becoming one of the best originals on Netflix to date. In April 2020, we learned that the series ranks among the most-watched titles of all time. Just under 30 million people watched the third season.
The show kicked off on Netflix in the summer of 2017 and despite constant comparisons to Breaking Bad, it earned its place among Netflix’s best. He’s one of the best magnets to win 32 Emmy nominations.
A day after we announced that Ozark had been renewed in June 2020, Netflix finally confirmed that Ozark would be returning for a fourth and final season.
The news broke on several Netflix social media platforms, confirming that Season 4 will be Ozark’s last, with the warning that it will be split into two halves. 14 episodes will make up Season 4 in total, each half being 7 episodes.
“AN OVERSIZED SEASON MEANS GREAT PROBLEMS FOR THE BYRDS.
WE ARE SO HAPPY THAT NETFLIX HAS RECOGNIZED THE IMPORTANCE OF GIVING #OZARK MORE TIME TO END THE SAGA OF THE BYRDS.
It’s no surprise that Netflix is renewing Ozark for a fourth season. For almost two months, Ozark topped the Daily Top 10 listings on Netflix.
Just before the announcement of Season 4, in an interview with Jason Bateman on Collider (a really good read by the way!), Bateman revealed some interesting information about the production and what that means for Season 4.
He revealed that each episode takes around eleven days to film with two weeks in advance to prepare. Altogether, that’s about six months of production to film an entire season.
When asked if the series could be picked up for two more consecutive seasons to wrap up the story, Jason Bateman said the following:
“I KIND OF LEAVE ALL OF THESE SMART, COMPLICATED CONVERSATIONS TO THOSE WHO CAN HANDLE THEM. MY FASTBALL, IF I HAVE ONE, IS NO LONGER ON THE BOARD. SO I’LL LEAVE IT TO CHRIS, MRC, AND NETFLIX TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE LIFE OF THE SHOW IS AND WHAT SHAPE IT WILL TAKE.
When Collider then interviewed Chris Mundy (Ozark’s showrunner) about season four, he said the following:
“WELL, IF WE’RE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A SEASON 4, I THINK IT’S GOING TO BE A QUESTION OF WHETHER RUTH CAN CREATE SOMETHING THAT SHE WANTS THAT IS SUSTAINABLE, OR IF SHE WANTS SOMETHING ELSE. AND I THINK IT’S GOING TO BE WHETHER THE BYRDS CAN TURN THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF THEIR LIVES INTO THIS MASSIVE ADVANTAGE, AND HOW WELL WILL KARMA CATCH UP WITH THEM IF THEY DO?
Naturally, we’re a long way from seeing any news on the Season 4 release date for Ozark. Either way, we can still speculate on when we can expect to see the crime drama return to Netflix.
