This multiple award-winning shows was praised for its engaging storytelling, fascinating performances, and masterful direction. A crime thriller to its center, the series follows the Byrde household as they relocate to Missouri following a failed money-laundering scheme. In Missouri, the series chronicles the efforts of these Byrdes at starting a bigger laundering scheme and their entanglement with local organized crime.
The very first season was released on Netflix in 2017, followed by two more seasons in 2018 and 2020. Over the years, the series has gained critical acclaim and a loyal fanbase. Thus, it was bound to get renewed from the network. If you as a lover are waiting anxiously for news about Ozark season 4, then we’ve got you covered!
‘Ozark’ season 3 released all its own ten episodes on March 27, 2020, on Netflix. Each episode has a runtime of 52-80 minutes.
On June 30, 2020, the streaming giant recommissioned the show for a fourth year. Along with its renewal, Netflix also verified that season 4 will indicate the end of the line for the story of the Byrde family. Well, there were hopes of this series stretching out for two seasons since Chris Mundy had often talked about five to be the perfect amount. Still, fans can stay assured as, unlike the previous seasons, season 4 will have a total of 14 episodes divided into two parts of 7-episodes each. Filming for the fourth season started in November 2020.
But to the woe of fans, Jason Bateman made a decision to resign from leading the episodes of the last season as a result of stringent protocols which have emerged as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Speaking about the launch date of season 4, Bateman told Deadline, “As far as if it’s gonna come out, it’s really going to be reliant upon, you know, if we could remain in creation. This sort of race, the entire world is in between vaccinations and all these variants. I mean, basically, it is going to get to us a whole lot faster now that Joe Biden’s got his hand on the wheel.”
He also added, “It would have would have taken longer with the last government, so I think we are going to we are going to get it to TV earlier thanks to Uncle Joe.” The prior seasons of the crime drama series have experienced release dates changing between March and August. Taking the aforementioned factors into account, alongside the possible delays due to this pandemic, we could expect the first part of Ozark’s season 4 to release sometime in Fall 2021.
The characters critical to the narrative will probably be back in the fourth year. Hence, we can expect Jason Bateman and Laura Linney to reprise their roles as Martin Byrde and Wendy Byrde, respectively. Additionally confirming to return would be Sofia Hublitz and Skylar Gaertner since the Byrde children, Charlotte and Jonah. Julia Garner will return as the criminal Ruth Langmore, as will Charlie Tahan as Wyatt Langmore, and Lisa Emery as the woman of the Snell family, Darlene Snell.
Special Agent Maya Miller will also produce a comeback in the new year. Thus, we can expect to see much more of Jessica Frances Dukes as the FBI accountant investigate Martin’s casinos. The newest additions to the cast of Ozark comprise Alfonso Herrera (‘The Exorcist’) as a Navarro crime family lieutenant, Javi Elizonndro. Also linking is Adam Rothenberg (‘The Serpent’) as the private investigator, Mel Sattem.
The fresh supporting cast members include Bruno Bichir (‘Narcos’) since the priest of the Navarro crime family, CC Castillo (‘True Detective’) since the vertical Sheriff Leigh Guerrero, and Katrina Lenk as Clare Shaw, the CEO of a pharmaceutical giant. What’s more, Felix Solis and Damian Young, who were members of the supporting cast in season, have been promoted to show regulars and are reprising their roles as Omar Navarro, the Mexican drug cartel leader, also Jim Rattelsdorf, respectively.
The end of season 3 sees Laura calling a hit her brother Ben and Helen Price conspiring to support the Byrde’s backs to take over their business. The cartel warfare, which has added its fair share of gore to the series, comes to an end as Wendy and Marty help ease the arrest of the Laguna Cartel members. The season ends on a nail-biting cliffhanger since Navarro calls Marty, Wendy, and Helen into Mexico. In a shocking twist of events, Navarro executes Helen Price and informs the Byrdes which it is a brand new”beginning”
According to Bateman, the new season will waste no time after the preceding one as the very first episode will perform only 10 minutes following Helen’s implementation. There’s speculation that the”start” suggests the Byrdes along with the mob manager will further strengthen their relationship in season 4. In a meeting with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Chris Mundy triumphed in an altercation involving the Byrdes along with the Navarro crime family.
Explaining the”beginning” of the blood partnership, Mundy said, “It’s, you are an essential part of this enterprise at the moment and you’re completely on his radar, to the point where he’s commingling his or someone else’s blood with yours, you are sharing in that. And therefore, for better or worse, you are completely in this match, and it’s yours to see if you’ve got another play left .”
In December 2020, Bateman dropped clues about the end of season 4 ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’ He said,” We do land the plane in a very satisfactory way.” He went on to sign that a big comeuppance might be awaiting the Byrdes and maintained that the end, according to him, was “great.” It looks like the relationship between the Byrdes and the FBI will achieve a critical point in a season, as for such a long time, Marty was utilizing the FBI and the US Government as a trump card to get into bed with Navarro.
What’s more, Chris Mundy also stated that the new season will focus on Ruth and how she changes the power dynamic by pledging alliance into the Snell living and turning against the Byrdes. Season 4 is all set to be the most riveting and action-packed, and we cannot wait for this as everything that the showrunners constructed up to points towards a thrilling, gory, and epic showdown between the two sides of the law.
