Outlander Season five exceptionally eventful and emotional last episode, all eyes are currently about what happens next, so it’s good news that season six is officially on the cards.
“Fans can rest assured their cherished Claire and Jamie will return confronting new challenges, adversaries and experiences in seasons five and six because we delve deeper into American history and continue the story of the Frasers as they settle in the New World,” said Starz president and CEO Chris Albrecht.
Back in 2018, Starz declared a double renewal of this favorite show ahead of its fifth season.
But, given string five has only recently started, not much was revealed about the exact release date.
The fifth-season was pushed back from its first release date of late 2019 and was only released in February 2020.
As a result, fans of the show are concerned there might be another delay going into season six.
However, the cast has confirmed it’s going to start in February 2021, leading to a possible 2022 release date.
Fans will be pleased to know both of the show’s major stars will be coming back for now six.
This means viewers will get to see a lot more of Sam Heughan since the Scottish heartthrob Jamie Fraser.
Caitriona Balfe will also be back as his wife Claire Fraser because the pair no doubt cope with more peril in the upcoming outings.
While other cast members have never been confirmed, some of the significant stars expected to return comprise Sophie Skelton because of their daughter Brianna Randall Fraser in addition to Richard Rankin as her husband Roger Wakefield.
Time travel isn’t real, no matter how far Outlander fans may want that to be true, so don’t expect us to leap ahead of time and bring you fresh footage before the month leading up to the premiere, as is customary.
