Season five of Outlander may just have dropped on Netflix Australia, but it is safe to state that we are more than ready for the season. Blame it on our generation’s desire for immediate gratification, or the fact that this show is simply that great (a bit of column A, piece of column B), but we have been primed and ready because it was announced back in 2018 the series had been renewed for a fifth and sixth season.
The Release Date Of Outlander Season 6
While we don’t yet understand when Outlander season six will be released in Australia, we do know that filming for the new year kicked off in February 2021, with Sam Heughan himself confirming the exciting news on Twitter.
“We’re BACK!! @Outlander_STARZ Season six shooting! Feel lucky to be working right now, production is ensuring everybody is secure and secure. Now simply have to take care of the snow…” he also wrote.
Production for season six was postponed on account of the coronavirus pandemic, with filming originally intended to have gone in December 2020. Thankfully, it looks like the show is on the street, and when all goes smoothly, we can expect the series to drop around December 2021, however nothing has been officially confirmed at this stage.
In the meantime? Let us enjoy the simple fact that Outlander season five is now on Netflix Australia to make us good and ready. Rejoice!
The Cast Of Outlander Season 6
Unsurprisingly, We’ll see leads Catriona Balfe and Sam Heughan reunite as Dr. Claire Fraser and Jamie Fraser for the Outlander period. Returning cast members will even comprise Richard Rankin (Roger Mackenzie), Sophie Skelton (Brianna Mackenzie), Lauren Lyle (Marsali Fraser) and John Bell (Ian Murray).
Furthermore, the character of Fergus Fraser will be recurring in the form of actor César Domboy, and David Berry’s Lord John Grey may also appear. Although not verified at this sttage, we may also see Maria Doyle appear as Aunt Jocasta.
