We know from Lau himself that the principal camera of this OnePlus 9 Pro will probably be a custom-developed Sony IMX789, although the ultrawide will utilize a Sony IMX766. The IMX789 main sensor has dual native ISO, full-pixel Omni-directional autofocus, it can record 4K video in 120 fps and supports real-time HDR video processing.
It’ll feature Sony’s Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR). Unlike staggered HDR, DOL can capture several exposures concurrently, which can help remove ghosting caused by moving objects. The IMX766 for the ultrawide will sit under a freeform lens, which will decrease distortion from 20% to about 1 percent.
