Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted raids at eight different places in Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA carried out this investigation following the delivery of a consignment of arms, ammunition and explosives by Pakistani drones. Significantly, on Wednesday, a large consignment of weapons and ammunition dropped by drones was seized in Tof village of Jammu, located near the International Border.
According to reports, these deliveries were made by a key module of The Resistance Front (TRF), a wing of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), acting at the behest of Pakistani masters. Let us tell you that a day before this, the NIA had raided several places including the residence of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Faisal Munir in Jammu.
According to the NIA, “TRF workers were in constant touch with Pakistani handlers of Lashkar and were receiving consignments of gunpowder, including terrorist hardware, through drones in Indian territory near the International Border in Samba sector. The consignments of these weapons were being supplied to TRF terrorists to carry out terrorist attacks on minorities, migrants and security forces in Kashmir. The case was registered at Rajbagh police station on May 29 and was re-registered by the NIA on July 30.”
The searches conducted today have led to the recovery of various incriminating materials including digital devices and documents. At present the investigation is going on in the matter.
Raids at the residence of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Faisal Munir
On Thursday, NIA officials raided the residence of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Faisal Munir, the main accused in the drone shooting case, who was arrested on July 18. Let us tell that about 1 lakh cash was dropped through drones along with each consignment of weapons for terrorists. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has made several arrests in recent months in connection with the drone case.
On 20 July, the Jammu Police busted a terror module, which was receiving multiple consignments of dropped arms and ammunition via drones controlled through Pakistan. J&K Police arrested three persons identified as Habib, Faisal Munir and Miyan Sohail. Habib was acting as a receiver of several consignments of weapons and ammunition dropped through a network of drones and illegal terror-collaborators controlled through Pakistan. Habib and Faisal were inspired by Munir. The consignment of drones received by Habib was further taken by him to Jammu and delivered to different persons at different places in Faisal’s direction.
Faisal Munir was in touch with Pakistan-based handlers for more than two-and-a-half years and has found over 15 drone consignments that were dropped at several places in Samba and Kathua.
