Micromax IN 2b

Micromax In series was very tacky and bold with campaigns like “aao kre cheeni kum“. The phones that came out were good but not to the extent that they would shake the existing competition from Xiaomi, Realme, etc. I liked the phone because of its meticulous efforts towards modularity. Now, the Micromax IN 2b is here with a few tweaks in the configuration and appearance. Continue reading to find out if it’s worth buying a Micromax IN 2b in 2021.

The Good

Micromax IN 2b is loaded with components and even the base variant comes at 4 Gb + 32 GB configuration which is a good thing. Other smartphone brands are merely rolling out 2 and 3 Gb RAM variants for identical pricing. The Micromax IN 2b comes in two variants, namely 4GB +64 GB and 6GB +64 GB, both of which have the same storage capacity.

The smartphone has an HD + display that is LCD and bears a resolution of 1600*720 pixels. Not too shabby screen, as it is adequately large enough for content consumption and lightweight gaming. The pixels density is quite low and you will notice some level of pixelation if you look closely. So, the display size is good but the display quality is not that enticing. The screen supports a brightness of 400 nits that is good but if you step out in sun, you have to shroud the phone for better visibility.

Micromax IN 2b comes with a UNISOC T610 processor that is an entry-level processor with decent performance in budget phones. It can run most applications with ease but if you are thinking of extensive BGMI sessions, it won’t be able to catch up with your pace. The 6 Gb RAM is adequate for every task and application and you won’t notice any optimization issues either.

Micromax IN 2b comes with Android 11 out of the box and runs a clean, stock Android UI with minimal bloatware. That feature seems to be absent from even mid-range flagship devices that are bundled with useless apps after each update. The battery is also a strong suit of the Micromax IN 2b as it packs a 5000 mAh battery that will easily last one day or more. I haven’t stressed on cameras because, in an entry-level device like this, cameras are there for namesake.

Micromax IN 2b The Bad

Micromax IN 2b’s biggest problem is the low pixel density that looks very bad on a 6.5-inch display. Secondly, the battery is a mammoth but doesn’t support fast charging and comes with a 10 Watt charger in the box. Refueling the phone from zero to a hundred percent will require three hours or more with a sluggish charger. Also, the phone skips the option of expandable storage that limits your space for images and media. Micromax IN 2b has received a price bump of 500 hundred rupees since its launch and that isn’t a piece of pleasant news for any new consumer. Micromax IN 2b should fix these few things when they roll out the next iteration AC.
