Superstar of Tollywood: Mahesh Babu

Mahesh Babu is an Indian actor, producer, media personality, and philanthropist. He was born on 9 August 1975 (Present Age: 46 years) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Majorly, he works in the Telugu film industry. He owns a production company named G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Mahesh is the son of famous Telegu film actor Krishna. His mother’s name is Indira. He has 4 siblings named Ramesh, Padmavathi, Manjula, and Priyadarshini. Mahesh completed his school education at St. Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai. Later, he enrolled himself in a bachelor of commerce degree at Loyola College in Chennai.

Mahesh’s Career Trajectory

Mahesh’s debut film was Needa in 1979. It was a Tollywood movie and he featured as a child artist in the film.  He appeared  as a lead actor in Rajakumarudu in 1999.  However, the Telugu actor shot to fame in the industry after his popular films like Okkadu, Athadu, Pokiri and Murari. Mahesh has appeared in  more than 30 films. Furthemore, he has won various awards including the prestigious Filmfare  South Award, South Indian International Award, CineMAA Award, Nandi Award and IIFA Utsavam Award.

In 2015, Mahesh was seen in the action film Srimanthudu alongside Shruti Hassan. Srimanthudu was the first movie which was produced under the banner of G. Mahesh Babu Productions. The film was a commercial success as it earned around Rs.2 billion globally. Subsequently, Mahesh acted in Brahmotsavam, Spyder, Bharat Ane Nenu, and Maharshi. In 2020, Mahesh appeared in Sarileru Neekevvaru. It was a humour and action packed film. Sarileru Neekevvaru became the highest grossing Telugu fim, collecting around Rs260 crores at worldwide box office.

Recently, he has been featured in the matrimony site Jeevansathi.com advertisement. This is the new campaign of Jeevansathi which is named #WeMatchBetter. The campaign is made to target the Telugu community to place their trust in the matrimony site to find suitable grooms and brides.
