The American futuristic Science fiction show ‘Lost in Space’ is all set to renew for a third and final season on Netflix. This re-imaging of the 1965 series of the same name which is based on an 1812 novel ‘The Swiss Family Robinson’, has proven to be a super hit show on the digital platform and has produced two extremely successful seasons already. This show has been created by Irwin Allen and produced by Legendary Television, Synthesis Entertainment, Clickety-Clack Productions, and Applebox Entertainment. The first season premiered on April 13, 2018, and the second season premiered on December 24, 2019.
For season 3, the entire main cast is coming back for the finale.
Any new additions to the cast members for season 3 has not been announced as of yet. But there are questions regarding Dr.Smith’s return as she was considered dead but her body was never retrieved.
The story revolves around futuristic space colonization and the Robinson family has been selected to live a new and better life in a new world. Their spacecraft unfortunately goes off course and they find themselves in a dangerous alien environment. Now the Robinson’s are lost and have to fight their way to survival.
The plot for this season has not been finalized yet but we can pick up from loose threads of the second season.
In the last season we witnessed after escaping the invading robot army, ‘Resolute’ wreck survivors, Robinson’s family spilled up on their survival mission. All children are shifted into another space ship which is a Jupiter Transport ship and Judy Robinson is in charge of the same while the rest of the adults stayed back. The ship comes in contact with a frequently mentioned long lost ship named Fortuna. This ship vanished over 20 years ago and was commanded by Judy Robinson’s biological father, Grant Kelly.
Netflix had announced via their Twitter post (@lostinspacetv) that a season 3 will be on air soon in 2021.
