Reel Life and Real-life partner Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu are all set to release three books together. It will be a picture book and with a good message and lesson for children.
The three-series picture book is titled “Inni and Bobo”. The book will be published by ‘Penguin Puffin’. The first part of the book will be released in 2022. Inni and Bobo are inspired by their three years old daughters. She loves all animals equally but has a special place for dogs in her life.
In Inni and Bobo main protagonist is similar to their daughter Inaaya. Whose love for stories and animals inspired her parents to write the book.
Soha Ali Khan earlier wrote ” The Perils of Being Moderately Famous (2017)”. According to Soha young readers are harder to impress as the choice of words should be literal and easy to understand. For children, the message behind the story should be clear and understandable.
It will be a story of Inni who finds happiness and joy by adopting a little puppy. The book will help young minds to learn and understand empathy. And also other life lessons but in a fun and cute way.
Kunal reveals that he wasn’t a reader when he was a kid. He always likes to listen and visualize the story. “My dad, Nani, masi, mother, and everybody used to tell me a lot of stories. And I enjoyed how they told a story in different ways, which would add to the romance.
Khan already made her writing debut in 2017 with her memoirs “The Perils of Being Moderately Famous”. She also said that Kemmu acted as a soundboard for her memoir. And gave her good reviews which help her improve her writing.
The idea for the book actually came from Inaaya. Soha always tells stories to Inaaya at her bedtime .and Soha gives Inaaya some characters and then makes up a story from those characters and narrates it to her. Their 3 years old daughter is so empathetic towards animals. So the book will feature her as the main character and might show some similarities to Inaaya.
Inni and Bobo will be Kunal’s debut as a writer and she will be the co-writer of the book. “I think Kunal and I make a great team, in life as well as in writing,” said Soha. The first two books’ ideas came from Kunal. And Soha fleshed it out, dressed it up, and made it pleasing to the eye. The book wouldn’t be possible if they both didn’t work hard together.
According to the publishers, the truly “endearing story” will touch the hearts of all — children, their guardians, and animal lovers.
I am absolutely thrilled that Soha and Kunal’s beautiful picture books have found a home at Puffin. I hope these gorgeously illustrated picture books find a special place on every young reader’s bookshelf. And we are also so very excited to welcome Kunal to the Penguin Random House family as a new author,” said Arpita Nath, associate commissioning editor, PRHI.
