Born on 4th November 1982, in Narsapuram, Agraharam, Andhra Pradesh, India, Amrapali is an IAS officer from the batch of 2010 and is currently posted a Deputy Collector in Warangal.
EARLY EDUCATION:
Amrapali is a graduate of Btech- Civil engineering from Andhra University. After graduation, she completed her post-graduation in MBA from the prestigious IIM Bangalore in 2008. She then got her first job in a Business Rank in ABN AMRO, where she used to get a good salary and had a good potential of getting a promotion. Later, she quit the job and started preparing for civil services. She was ranked 39th and became the youngest to have cleared the UPSC CSE and the first lady IAS officer to be posted in the newly form Warangal district of Telangana.
CAREER:
Amrapali worked as a sub-collector in Vikarabad in 2014 and later was transferred and appointed Director in Women and Child Welfare Department. In 2016, she was then appointed as Collector in Warangal District under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandra Shekhar Rao Garu. The appointment committee of Cabinet, via Twitter, announced kata as one of three officials to be appointed in PMO. She will serve on October 27, 2023. She made it to the headlines during the release of Bahubali-2 when she booked the whole theatre for her staff members to praise them for their performance in ‘Nagara Sundarikarana Program’ imitated for the beautification of the city. She is known for multitasking and for the use of other technologies, where she can type on mobile without looking and talk to the officers at the same time. She once suspended an officer, after which every subordinate officer followed the rules strictly and the orders made by her. She even distributed tablets and PCs to the Village Revenue Officers. She was awarded ‘Swachhata Ranking- 2017’ and for best District Election Officer.
PERSONAL LIFE AND FAMILY:
Amrapali’s father was a professor of economics at Andhra University. Her brother-in-law is also an IAS officer. Her parents are Katha Venkat Reddy and Padmavati and have one sister who works in Karnataka in Revenue Department. Amrapali’s sister’s name is not known. Amrapali is said to be close to her father in her family. She married Sameer Sharma, an IPS officer in 2018. Sameer is an IPS officer in Daman and Diu.

OTHER FACTS:
She is so well known for her work, that an idol has been set up in Warangal where the image of her is seen holding Lord Ganesha in her lap. She is not so fond of social media, so she cannot be found on Facebook or Instagram, although many fan page accounts can be seen there. She is an inspiration for today’s youth and also, she addressed the students of SR Engineering college in Warangal and said in her speech that women faced many challenges in business.
INTERESTS AND HOBBIES:
Amrapali loves writing, reading, traveling, and cooking. She is an art connoisseur too. Virat Kohli is her favorite cricketer. She loves cars collection, even she has Honda City and Innova which are her favorite cars.
