About Kangana Ranaut

Kangan Ranaut is an Indian actress and filmmaker who work in Hindi films. She was born on 23 March 1987. She completed her education at New York Film Academy. Ranaut hails from a small town in Himachal Pradesh, initially aspired to become a doctor at the insistence of her parents. She was determined to build her career, then relocated to Delhi at the age of sixteen and took up modeling for a brief amount of time. After she was trained under the theatre director Arvind Gaur, Ranaut made her feature film debut in the year 2006 thriller Gangster, for which she was awarded the Film Fare Award for the best Female Debut. She also received praise for portraying an emotionally intense character in the dramas Woh Lamhe 2006, Life in a metro 2007, and Fashion 2008. 

Movie Thalaivii

Thalaivii is an upcoming Indian multilingual biographical film about the life of J Jayalalithaa, actress and politition who served six times as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, with Kangana Ranaut playing the lead role as Jaylalithaa. The film is shot simultaneously shot in many languages like Tamil, Hindi and Telegu. This film is directed by A.L. Vijay and written by Vishnu Induri and Shailesh R Singh of Vibri Motion Picture and Karma Media and Entertainment respectively. The film’s trailer was released on March 23 of this year. On Kangana Ranaut’s 34th birthday. The 2 minute and 59-second-long trailer for the movie featured well-known instances from late actor and politician Jayalalithaa’s life and tracked her transition from the world of cinema to the world of politics.

Kangana Ranaut reviews Thalaivii

Kangana first started the shooting for her movie in year 2019 and she finally completed it late last year. After that she has been waiting for the release of the film. However, despite being in the zone of former actor-turned-politician Jayalalitha. She strongly stepped into the shoes of the former Tamil Nadu CM. For the past 2-3 years, it was the first time she watched the complete film. She shared a poster of the movie in various avatars of Jayalalithaa’s film, political career, which was enacted by Kangana. Kangana called it the ‘best film’ of her career till now, and a ‘gratifying watch.’

Kangana thanked K Vijayendra Prasad, he is the veteran writer who penned the story of Thalaivii. Kangana also gave him credit as she  got the opportunity to play the lead role in the movie. She also termed it as the ‘role of a lifetime.’ Ranaut has been busy as she has been visiting to Chennai and Hyderabad in recent days. She also paid tributes to Jayalalithaa at her memorial in Chennai on Saturday. There was a grand event held in Hyderabad where K Vijayendra Prasad and others were present.

Thalaivii will soon be hitting theatres in parts of the country on September 10. The movie is currently caught up and  involved in a controversy over multiplexes refusing to screen the Hindi version. The decision is completey based on the makers. To decide to release the movie on an Over-the-Top platform soon. They have, however, decided to screen the Tamil and Telugu versions.
