Kalki 2898 AD is an epic dystopian sci-fi film starring Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. It is on an unprecedented record-breaking run at the local and global box offices. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin and released on June 27, grossed ₹555 crore globally within four days, according to its makers.
“555 crores and counting…” The biggest forces are dominating the Global Box Office and show no signs of slowing down,” stated a post on Vyjayanthi Movies’ official X handle. The Hindi version of the Kalki film grossed ₹40.15 crore on Sunday, bringing its total opening weekend take to ₹112.15 crore.
“A historical milestone. The Hindi version of #Kalki2898AD grossed ₹115 crores + NBOC in its debut weekend in India. On Sunday, Kalki 2898 AD generated approximately ₹88.2 crore across all languages in India. That is according to the production banner’s Instagram post. This brings the total domestic box office collection to ₹309 crore.
On Monday, Kalki earnings dropped by 60.77 percent to Rs 34.6 crore. The Telugu version generated the most revenue (Rs 14.5 crore), followed by the Hindi version (Rs 16.5 crore). While Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam made tiny contributions to the total. Kalki has collected a total of Rs 343.6 crore after five days. Meanwhile, the film has grossed Rs 519 crore worldwide over the four-day weekend.
During the Kalki film’s advertising, Amitabh Bachchan stated that he was impressed by Nag Ashwin’s vision for Kalki in 2898 AD. Big B stated, “When Nag Ashwin came and explained his idea to me, for a long time after he left, I was thinking, ‘What the hell is Nagi drinking?'” To see anything that absurd, some of the visuals you’ve seen are unreal. To have someone come up with a notion that is so futuristic and feasible… and then realize that no matter what he imagined, he actually brought all of the material. “Being a part of it was an unforgettable experience for me.”
