Jio Phone next to the original keypad-oriented 4G sim supported phone by Jio was a massive hit as it brought cheap calling and basic internet access at just 1500 INR. The second iteration of the JioPhone never really caught on as it was a flat full keypad design that didn’t lure the touch screen smartphone consumers. Jio has been secretly working on a touch screen Android phone that is one of the cheapest 4G enabled devices available in the country. The recent developments following an announcement from the Reliance Annual General Meeting in June. The phone will available for purchase via sale from September 10 but there isn’t any information about it hitting the offline market as well.
Jio Phone Next Specifications
Jio Phone Next will try to pack as much as possible within the small price tag. It is rumored to come with a 5.5 inches HD display. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 215 processor paired with 2 and 3 GB RAM options. Also, the storage is tipped to be available in 16 GB and 32 GB configurations. The biggest noticeable feature is that it will run on the Android 11 (Go) operating system which is a stripped-down version of the main operating system and doesn’t require as many internal resources as other smartphones do.
Jio Phone Next is aimed at the budget segment and is an attempt to supply Android-enabled smartphones with volte connectivity at the cheapest possible price. The large display and latest operating system is the major highlight of this new smartphone from Jio. The cameras won’t be much capable but could be a great support for document capture and general photos. It is also rumored to have a 2500 mAh battery that can last very long due to the power-conserving and lightweight Android Go operating system.
