Last year the name of Jacqueline Fernandez surfaced in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case involving scammer Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The ED has argued in front of the High Court that the actress knew she would be using and possessing the money from Sukesh’s crime. This reply was made in response to the Kick actress’s plea to have her police report quashed.

News 18 reports that the ED responded to Jacqueliene Fernandez’s plea with an affidavit. According to the report, Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri heard the plea. In response to Jacqueliene’s request to have the FIR against her in the money laundering case quashed. Her attorney requested more time so they could prepare a rejoinder. The high court scheduled the matter for a follow-up hearing on April 15.

In response, ED claimed that Jacqueliene Fernandez had always concealed the facts about the financial transaction with Sukesh Chandrasekhar until the actress was presented with proof. They added that the actress still withholds the truth from people today. Jacqueliene even attempted to tamper with the evidence. According to the ED, by erasing all of the data from her cell phone following Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s arrest.

She also requested that the evidence be destroyed by her colleagues. There is no question about it—the evidence shows she had been using, enjoying, and possessing criminal proceeds. It is therefore established that Fernandez knew the accused Chandrasekhar’s possession and use of the proceeds of his crime.

Jacqueliene Fernandez recently filed an additional plea in a Delhi court, requesting protection from Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who texted and left a voicemail for her while she was attending court. Jacqueliene did not reply to the unsolicited messages, describing them as “completely unwarranted and highly inappropriate.” She also added in her plea that his letters posed a threat to her safety, according to the report.

As per the report, Fernandez lodged a complaint with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) citing Chandrasekhar’s attempts to establish a connection with her. He further stated that he had been writing the letters to the print and electronic media on purpose. According to reports, the Delhi Police has not yet taken any action.

Reaction to the Financial Crimes wing within the instance

The Kick actress complained, to which the EOW replied, emphasizing that Sukesh always writes letters. “The agency reported in the report that it was noted that Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The accused has a history of writing letters to media outlets about Jacqueliene through various means, which is affecting her social/professional assignments as well as directly harassing/threatening her. It went on to say that this is a very important issue considering the nature of the threat. The agency went on to say, “It will have serious implications on the conduct of the trial of the case, concerning Jacqueliene.”
