IFFCO Welcomes the Tribhuvan Cooperative University Bill 2025

New Delhi, March 28, 2025: IFFCO welcomes the passage of the Tribhuvan Cooperative University Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha. This landmark decision is set to strengthen the rural economy, create new employment opportunities, and integrate the cooperative sector with modern education and research.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah announced that India is getting its first cooperative university after 75 years, which will train new leaders and further empower the cooperative movement.

Dr. Uday Shankar Awasthi, Managing Director of IFFCO, hailed this initiative as a significant step towards strengthening Indian agriculture, farmers, and rural development. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah for their visionary leadership.

IFFCO Chairman Shri Dileep Sanghani emphasized that the university will shape the future of cooperative leadership by providing specialized education and training, equipping individuals with expertise in modern management and marketing.

Mr. Jeroen Douglas, Director General of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), also praised this initiative, stating that it will strengthen the global cooperative movement.
