If there’s a new season Netflix shows that everybody is waiting for, it’s Stranger Things season 4.
We’ve been waiting for Stranger Things season 4 because Stranger Things season 3 premiered on Netflix on July 4, 2019. Regrettably, we haven’t seen the newest season of this hit Netflix first series.
And even more, unfortunately, it’s not even a surprise that we’ve had to wait for this long term. The moment production was delayed due to the outbreak in March 2020, it became apparent for those paying attention that the season wouldn’t be only a month or two delayed.
Well, we are still waiting for the new season. Within the last few months, there are a few improvements regarding the Stranger Things season 4 release date. We discussed those upgrades below.

Stranger Things season 4 Release Date
Netflix has not declared the Stranger Things season 4 release date yet. However, there are a few positive indicators that Stranger Things season 4 is coming to Netflix in 2021.
A number of outlets have reported that Stranger Things season 4 is anticipated to be published in 2021, including Variety, TV Line, and more. That is a fantastic sign.
A while back, new cast member Sherman Augustus replied to a comment on Instagram and said he was”pretty sure” the season would be published in 2021.
There also have been a lot of rumors getting traction about a fifth and fourth season filming in the same moment. If Stranger Things season 4 and season 5 are filming together, that might be the reason Augustus mentioned they’re filming until August.
But, I have some serious doubts about that for lots of reasons, especially after hearing a few cast members discuss how season 4 generation is going. Recently, Caleb McLaughlin told Teen Vogue that matters were being filmed out of sequence due to the number of cast members and extras were allowed in certain scenes.
What is McLaughlin’s complete quotation from Teen Vogue:
“Everything is backward due to Covid. When there’s a scene with extras, then we can not picture with everybody at this time. We have to just film scenes where there are fewer people, so we must begin from a later episode. We won’t begin at episode one, we’ll start at episode five,” Caleb says. “It is very bizarre there is so much happening in the world at this time.”
Stranger Things is a show that uses a major cast with lots of characters on-screen or in the same scene at the same moment. It’s possible they are waiting until things are safer before they start getting everybody in precisely the same location. That is just speculation, however.
Another interesting thing is what Gaten Matarazzo said lately. In an interview with Collider, Matarazzo said they do not even understand what days they’ll be filming or wrap production since it’s such a fluid situation at this time.
Here’s what Matarazzo told Collider:
“There is very few dates that are reliable. It really is more of a guesstimation on when we are gonna be filming when we’re gonna be wrapping up when the launch is gon na na be, all that jazz because we don’t know on day-to-day if we’re gonna be filming weekly. I should be filming like next month for a larger chunk than I’ve had in a little, but although it is coming up in about two weeks from now still do not know a specific date. So because of that, there’s really no way to find out when we are gonna be wrap.”
So, that’s not just great news for all those keeping track at home! There must be several ballpark dates in mind, however, and when we’re lucky, these dates are some time this season.
`Clearly, Stranger Things season 4 isn’t coming to Netflix anytime soon. That is the bad news. At the earliest, Stranger Things season, 4 will be added to Netflix in November or December. Production needs to wrap around sometime in June or July to feel assured about a discharge date in these months.
We’ll have a better idea of this Stranger Things season 4 launch date as they become closer to wrapping production.
We’ll share the Stranger Things season 4 release date when we find out, and any more relevant information.
