Talking about her career, Huma Qureshi said, ‘The career time has been good so far. I belong to a middle class family from Delhi. I had to come to Mumbai and do a film, that got me Gangs of Wasseypur, after that whatever work I have done, whether it is international work, India work, Tamil, OTT web series… that’s what I think That’s the bonus I’ve got.
Huma Qureshi told how she got the song in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Huma said, ‘In December 2019, I was in Amsterdam and got a call from Sanjay sir’s office, his casting director is Shruti ji, I have known him for a long time. I still remember him, it was New Year’s of 2019, on 29th or 28th December, he got a call and he asked that listen, you will do a song in Gangubai? I said- yes. I said come now? He said – no, don’t come now, celebrate the new year and as soon as you reach, you want to call, meet sir. When I came to Mumbai, I met Sanjay sir the very next day. His set was set up in Filmcity, I met him, it was like a dream come true for me.
Huma said, ‘Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted me to dance with only the face. He had said that whatever is going on with Alia i.e. in Gangu’s character, only you have to express it with your face. He wanted me to express the whole situation of that time with my face.

Talking about his Tamil film ‘Valimai’, he said that it was a lot of fun working with Ajith sir. He said that he is getting a lot of reactions because of this film, so he has made up his mind that he has to do more films in South. Talking about Ajit, Huma said, “He doesn’t go to any event for the last 20 years, doesn’t do any promotions, his region is so beautiful that I want people to know me from the films I have done.
