To keep the former operating, you can now link your PAN to your ID Card by March 31, 2023. Formerly, you had until March 31, 2022, to do the same. The deadline for linking your Aadhaar to your PAN Card has now been extended until March 31, 2023. This suggests you still have time to complete the necessary tasks.
There are numerous ways to link your PAN card to your Aadhaar card to prevent major consequences if you are unable to do so
The steps below describe how to link your PAN Card to your Identity Card online using the Income Tax Department of India’s e-filing website –
Step 1: Go to incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal to access the official Income Tax e-filing website.
Step 2: On the homepage, you’ll notice a ‘Quick Links’ button. Click on the same and then and choose the ‘Link Aadhaar’ sub-option from it to move further.
Step 3: Once you do the same, you will receive a pop-up notification saying that your payment details have been verified. Select the ‘Continue’ option.
Step 4: On the website to which you will be routed, enter your PAN and card number. Click the ‘Validate’ button at the end of this stage.
Step 5: Enter your PAN Card number, Card number, and your Card name.
Step 6: On the following page, enter the One Time Password (OTP) that you will get on your mobile phone. Select the ‘Validate’ option.
Finally, you will receive information that your Aadhaar-PAN connection request has been shared with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
If you do not want to utilize either of the two options given above, learn how to manually link your cards –
Step 1: Go to your local NSDL office. After consulting with the appropriate official, complete the application form.
Step 2: Provide the necessary information and upload supporting documents such as your Aadhar card, PAN card, and birth certificate. Following verification, the Aadhaar card will be linked to the PAN.
