The Sanderson sisters have been gone for 300 decades, so what’s a couple more? Last October, Disney+ formally announced it is developing Hocus Pocus 2, a sequel to the 1993 classic, but in the year since, additional details regarding the film has been scarce. Now that’s some hocus pocus.
With Halloween upon us, Hocus Pocus lovers are desperate to know more about the highly-expected sequel, and today, we now have a few more morsels of advice. When is Hocus Pocus two being released? Can there be a Hocus Pocus Two trailer?
Yes! In October 2019, it was eventually confirmed that Disney+ is creating a Hocus Pocus sequel with Workaholics author and producer Jen D’Angelo. At that moment, Collider noted that D’Angelo will write the script and oversee pre-production on the expected sequel.
Regrettably, Disney+ has yet to announce a Hocus Pocus 2 release date. While many fans were hopeful that the sequel could debut in time for Halloween this year, the COVID-19 pandemic unfortunately complicated items for Hocus Pocus 2 and many other films and TV jobs.
As of now, it appears unlikely that Hocus Pocus 2 will debut in 2020. However, now that lots of productions have resumed under rigorous COVID-19 protocols, it’s likely that the sequel might begin filming in time for a Halloween 2021 release. Meanwhile, fans must throw as many spells as needed to make that happen!
When news of this Hocus Pocus two sequel officially broke this past year, That D’Angelo has”been tasked with finding a way to bring back” three Sanderson sisters played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. Sources near the situation said that Disney is”hopeful [the three actresses] will be involved with the sequel in some capacity,” but the studio hasn’t yet revealed exactly what that means.
But, Midler said that she’s”absolutely” match to reprise her role as Winifred Sanderson in Hocus Pocus 2. “I can’t wait to fly!” She told the outlet, including that she and producers are”just talking logistics” concerning the sequel. Amok! Amok! Amok! Amok!
There aren’t a Hocus Pocus 2 trailer quite yet, but expect footage from the sequel to strike on the web soon after filming begins.
