Weather Alert: The rains of the second round of monsoon are now proving fatal for the people. The news of devastation is coming out from five states of the country. Heavy rains, floods and landslides have caused many deaths in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Odisha and Jharkhand. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rains and floods in many areas even today.
Meanwhile, the Science Department says that the deep pressure over Northwest Chhattisgarh, adjoining Northeast Madhya Pradesh and South East UP has weakened and turned into a depression.

According to the IMD, the effect of the low pressure area that has developed over the Bay of Bengal has started showing in central and eastern India, due to which there has been a change in the weather and there is a possibility of light to heavy rainfall at isolated places for the last two days. It is being told that the effect of low pressure area will be seen in some parts of capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
According to the Meteorological Department, the spell of rain and thundershowers will continue in Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand. At the same time, there may be rain in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh also. Along with this, there is a possibility of many rains over Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. During this, lightning may also occur at some places.
Rain is very likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Bihar. On the other hand, rain is expected in remaining parts of Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. It may also rain in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana.
According to private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, there is a strong possibility of heavy rains in Konkan, Goa and parts of Maharashtra.
