The well-known producer-director made history by being the first Indian to take home the esteemed International Emmy Directorate Award. Deepak Chopra gave her the award during the ceremony.

The Directorate Award was given to Ekta Kapoor in recognition of her “trailblazing career and impact on the Indian television landscape.” Following the award, she had an interview with India Today. She was seen carrying the Emmy while wearing an embroidered dress with a light orange hue. “This is for you, India,” she cried, showing her emotions. We’re bringing your Emmy home.
Additionally, Ekta Kapoor shared a brief video clip of her Emmy Award on her Instagram account. She wrote, “I’m bringing home YOUR Emmy @iemmys, India.”

In an interview with India Today prior to accepting the esteemed award, Ekta Kapoor expressed her feelings of humility and overwhelm. “I believe that the influence of writing, storytelling, and the arts is far greater than we realised.” I just feel a little overwhelmed and humbled to be honoured by this worldwide stage on a worldwide platform,” she went on, saying that she now feels “responsible” for the honour. She continued by saying that she believed it was her duty to speak up for those in need and to share the experiences of those whose voices weren’t being heard.

Ekta Kapoor announced her nomination in August of this year, writing, “I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement to be recognised.” “I will always treasure this award because it represents a journey beyond the workplace. Using this prestigious platform to represent my country internationally is an honour beyond words.”
