Is it intelligence and skills or a formal degree that actually leads you to build a successful career? Today when, students are confused even after scoring 99 to 100 percent in their exams, which has become a very common scenario, the difficulties to decide the right career and grab the right opportunities have increased. Focusing just on the marks and ignoring the skills needed in an individual have left our youth in dilemma.
Meet the self-made entrepreneur Durvesh Yadav, the Founder of Rising Star who proves skills and willpower to be more critical than a formal degree to achieve a successful career. Having talked to this young entrepreneur gave me a completely new outlook on career goals and a successful career.
Durvesh leads Rising Star Digital Media, a company that helps businesses and brands with press releases and online marketing services. In addition to running Rising Star Digital Media, Durvesh founded the Rising Star Youth Foundation to help, support, and inspire India’s youth and help those in need
He says, “I recall the days when I had to leave college and was left clueless about my career. Today, I am the founder of Rising Star and a self-made successful entrepreneur who is thriving to reach the peaks of success dreamt by me in days to come.”
Durvesh Yadav narrates his past setbacks when he couldn’t score high in Engineering due to myriad thoughts troubling him regarding job opportunities and earning huge. He never was the student who was willing to be satisfied with a normal 9 to 6 job, rather dreamt to earn huge without having to follow the concept of ‘yes boss’ in a regular job. He quit his Engineering to know more about his capabilities and work to enhance his PR skills thus embracing entrepreneurial skills. And, nothing good stops him from following the path created by him, not even the degree he missed to acquire.
Further, Durvesh cites examples of successful personalities who he takes as inspiration.
Durvesh Yadav speaks about Apple CEO Steve Jobs who dropped out of college just after his first semester his net worth at the time of his death on paper was $10.8 billion. He also says about Ted Turner who actually didn’t drop out but was kicked out of his college, turned his father’s advertising company into the Turner Broadcasting Company, launching the first 24-hour cable news network, CNN. He cites the example of Ritesh Agarwal, the mastermind behind the immensely successful startup OYO Rooms who dropped out of college at the age of 18 and started Oravel Stays, a portal to book budget stays.
Durvesh states that willpower is more important than a formal degree. He says, “Your intelligence will lead you to make planned strategies and thus defy the concept of acquiring a degree to mark a difference in career goals.”
Durvesh is more than an entrepreneur. He is a bestselling author too, who could follow his passion to write once he chose to walk on his path chasing his dreams. He got the freedom to explore himself, and find his passion rather than getting stuck to his course books in an effort to score a high percentage. A student, who couldn’t get pass marks in English in his tenth standard, today holds the world’s record in writing the most unique motivational book. Isn’t it inspiring?
Durvesh urges and suggests the young generation to rise above the orthodox values which may not be always true and build their own rules to chase dreams. He also projects different fields where one can explore their skills to excel without actually running after a formal degree like Entrepreneurs, Stock market professionals, YouTube influencers, Event Management, writing, and many more where one can follow their passion and turn them to the profession. He suggests students think beyond the government jobs and never accept failures just because they couldn’t clear exams to grab government jobs. He says, our country has many opportunities beyond government departments. One needs to explore, research, and try being unique.”
According to Durvesh, a degree can just earn a regular job, but it cannot help any person to grow without skills.
He with an intention to motivate the youth says, “Remember, nothing can beat your willpower and the skills you possess to chase your dreams!”
