Does Lelouch Return In Code Geass After Season 2?

Code Geass was one of the very epic anime of the early 2000s. The anime wasn’t adapted from any source. After its massive success, a light novel, a manga, and a video game series have been adapted in the anime, every one of which had its essence of brilliancy. If you haven’t watched Code Geass however, I highly recommend it. Not only is it filled with exciting sci-fi minutes, but also the mastermind protagonist of the series displays outstanding strategic abilities. In terms of animation and art, the anime was revived under Sunrise studio. It was not even close to a disappointment. Instead, the studio did an amazing job in animating the series with great graphics. The character style by Clamp was sensational too.

The series ended in 2008, following two seasons. After the 2 seasons, more movies and OVAs were released. Here is the order in which the string needs to be viewed.

Original Series:

The first two seasons of Code Geass are the first anime series and the true plot of this anime. The first period is simply referred to as Code Geass (published in 2006), and the next season is named Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (Released in 2008). You will also find them being known as R1 and R2 a lot of times. Following these shows, two recap movies were published in 2008 and 2009. The movies are referred to as special edition, Black Rebellion and Zero Requiem, which recap season 1 and 2, respectively. There is absolutely no shift in content from both of the first series in these distinctive Edition recap films.

But, there’s an extra epilogue from the R2 special edition movie where CC resurrects Lelouch.

OVAs:

In 2012, a 28 minute OVA was released called”Nunnally in Wonderland.” It doesn’t have any plot-changing event. It is a very simple adaptation of a picture book where the personalities of Code Geass re-enact the characters of Alice in Wonderland. This OVA includes Nunnally as Alice, Lelouch as the mad hatter, CC as the Cheshire cat, Suzaku since the White Knight, and Kallen as the March Hare.

A month later, another OVA named Code Geass: Akito the Exiled was published, which had 5 episodes. The OVA is a spinoff of the original anime series, which includes the story of Akito Hugo. The event in the anime occurs during the span after the conclusion of season 1 and the beginning of season 2. The founders chose an ideal timing with this anime as it occurs after the fall of the Dark Knights and the comeback of Zero. Thus, it makes sense why Lelouch is absent throughout these episodes.

Film Series:

This is the point where significant confusion rises for people new to Code Geass. A three-film series of anime has been released from 2017 to 2019. These film series were published marginally like fan service for people who loved the series.

These films are put in a deadline alternate to the first series released in 2006. The movies resemble a recap, but they have a few changes and additional scenes that alter the plot at a few points. The three films are called Koudou (Initiation in English), Handout (Transgression), and Audio (Glorification).

The last movie is named Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection. It was released in 2019. This movie doesn’t have any connection with the three-movie series and can be a direct continuation of the special edition R2 film from 2009. So, this picture tracks back into the deadline of the first 2006 series.

Each of those films has its own significance and changes. They run for around two hours to 2 and a half hours every day.

Does Lelouch Return In Code Geass After Season 2?

In season 2, we see Lelouch fulfill his conclusion as Suzaku, now the brand new Zero of the Empire, kills him. This was Lelouch’s legendary masterplan to satisfy his aim of bringing change to the world. Lelouch’s departure is reasoned by his famous speech to Suzaku, where he informs him that anybody who murdered should be ready to be murdered. The scene moved many to tears as we see our hero fall. Suzaku’s crying face underneath his mask whilst stabbing his very best friend makes it more difficult to watch this dreadful scene.

A lot of OVAs and movies were released post that. Does Lelouch reunite in them from death? The answer is yes, he does. From the last 2019 movie, Lelouch makes a comeback. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection is a continuation of the first two series following the epilogue of the second recap film where Lelouch is resurrected by CC.

The treacherous emperor and hero creates an epic comeback and requires the identity of Zero again. The film shows the process of resurrection of the wonderful hero in addition to this chaos brought into the peaceful land by Knightmare Frame, a mysterious organization. Additionally, the presence of Geass consumers in Zilkhistan is a major arc in the film.

The film brings all our favorite characters back in action for fans who’d been requesting more. Unlike many other sequel films, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection does not look stretched or harshly exaggerated. The plot was well thought out, and all components were well-fitting. Lelouch yields in the new film after year. But, the film has more openings than just the yield of Lelouch.

Code Geass Season 3 Release Date

We’re Taking a Look at Fall 2021 to Historical 2022 release date for Code Geass Season 3: Z of that Recapture. A brand new season of Code Geass merely means more intriguing plots centering on these characters, which can be more than welcome. The new season was supported by Sunrise studio. Though no official date has been established, it’s been verified that the new season will be named Code Geass: Z of the Recapture.

The anime series will continue from events of the 2019 Code Geass film. Yet again, the character design is going to be finished by Clamp. The main idea behind these new shows, regardless of the conclusive end of R2, is that the makers feel the only character that’d expand in the R1 and R2 show was Lelouch. To throw more light on the other character and to keep their arcs, brand new series are developed.

None of the Code Geass movies are disappointing, and it’s only fair that we keep having high hopes from the upcoming third season also, where Lelouch will return again along with the other characters that are brilliant.
