Disney + Confirms ‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ Will Be A Standalone Series From ‘The Mandalorian’

No spoilers, but the final chapter of The Mandalorian left us with an important unknown in its post-credits scene, will ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ be the title of the third season? The answer is no. Actually, it will be another series that will take place in the same timeline as the one created by Jon Favreau, after the fall of the Empire, and will star Temuera Morrison (Tom Curry in Aquaman) who will play the main bounty hunter, and the American nationalized Chinese actress Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian or Melinda May in Agents of SHIELD).

As executive producers will be Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez and the premiere of the first season is scheduled for December next year on Disney +, according to the same official Twitter account of the platform.

The Mandalorian has characters as charismatic as the same Mando who plays Pedro Pascal and Baby Yoda. It has also been a smash hit, one would almost say unexpected (and more so seeing how the sequels and spin-off films have gone, from more to less at the box office). It also won seven of the fifteen Emmy Awards for which it was nominated last September: photography, sound mixing, music, special effects, sound editing, production design and stunt coordination.

Turned into a phenomenon, it is clear that Disney has turned its gaze to the warsie territory promoted by Favreau and company to create an extended universe in the style of Marvel superheroes, but in streaming. It would be completed with the also announced spin-offs of Ashoka (Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi Padawan and a character emerged from the animated series) and Rangers of the New Republic, all in real action and most likely with the idea in mind of leading to the different actions and characters in a tremendous ending in the style of Avengers: Endgame.
