Dead To Me is a black comedy on Netflix that has been known as “the darker version of Grace & Frankie”, has been a hit since season one was released in May 2019.
The show stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as two women who meet at a grief counselling conference and become fast friends.
Will the show return for a second season? Check out what we know about the future of Dead To Me below.
Yes! Christina Applegate declared the information on Twitter, along with a pic of her and co-star Linda Cardellini.
“My woman, we got more time together,” she wrote. “I love you.”
CONFIRMED: Dead season 2 is will arrive Friday 8th May 2020.
The show was revived under a month later season one found, so we anticipated the next series would land soon afterward.
We all know for sure that Applegate and Cardellini are going to be back — but we’ll have to wait and see if anybody else hints on for the second run. Can James Marsden return, too?
The first period of Dead To Me ended on a major cliffhanger, with Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini) standing on the dead body of Judy’s ex-fiancé Steve (James Marsden) – also Jen is seemingly the one who shot him.
But, founder Liz Feldman claims that the ending “isn’t exactly what you think”, which “Netflix might have to order a season two for us all to find out” whether Jen murdered Steve.
A bait-and-switch would be in-step with the rest of the show: season one was filled with sudden twists and turns, regularly subverting audiences’ expectations. The largest of these was the revelation that Judy, Jen’s new friend, was in charge of the scream which left her husband deceased.
“There are an evening of the score and there are a rebalancing that will happen and almost, in some instances, a role reversal,” Feldman told The Hollywood Reporter. “This series will stay a series that explores the shadowy sides and the light sides of grief, loss, friendship and forgiveness. So suffice to say, there will be darkness.”
Yes, though it doesn’t give much away…
