Based on the original graphic book series by Brian Ralph,’ Daybreak’ occurs at a post-apocalyptic Glendale, California. The story follows an eclectic set of teen survivors, who once were the cliques of Glendale High, as they browse a world full of ravenous zombies. While the series largely is all about these teens taking life a day at a time, the focal point remains a 17-year-old adolescent, Josh, who along with his team of misfits, embarks on an adventurous expedition to find his lost girlfriend, Sam, in the aftermath of a nuclear explosion which has wiped the majority of the population.
Created by Brad Peyton and Aron Coleite, they shameful comedy-adventure series stars Colin Ford as Josh Wheeler, Sophie Simnett as Sam Dean, Alyvia Alyn Lind as exceptionally unstable kid genius Angelica Green, Austin Crute as contemplative samurai Wesley Fists, Cody Kearsley as Turbo Bro Jock, and Matthew Broderick as Michael Burr in the central characters. After the series hit Netflix in October 2019, it was met with mixed reviews with a mostly positive reaction. Here’s everything we understand about’Daybreak’ season 2!
Daybreak Season 2 Release Date: Canceled Or Renewed?
‘Daybreak’ season 1 was located on October 24, 2019, on Netflix. It consists of 10 episodes with a runtime of 38-50 minutes each. Alas, fans won’t be greeted by another edition as co-creator Aron Coleite formally declared the disheartening news within a tweet released on December 17, 2019. He took into his Twitter handle to split the cancelation of season 2.
“We heard last week which Daybreak won’t be returning for a second season. We are so sorry we couldn’t share it with you earlier but also thankful that we must hang out in these last few live-tweet sessions together with you,” read the article. “Thanks for picking up that which we put down, for working with it in all your amazing, weird, monstrous ways, and also for being such a significant part of this show and our expertise making it.”

He added, “No one is as heartbroken because we are we can not discuss more of this ride with you. But we’re so thankful to have gotten to bring it this far. Thanks for riding with us for your voices, for your enthusiasm, your own memes, your fart jokes, and you’re unashamed crazy. We’ll find you out there.”
Despite being a promising coming-of-age narrative with sufficient potential, the series is unfortunately axed just following a one-season-long run. The end of the series follows the recognizable Netflix strategy of twisting down shows after comparatively short lifespans. The show garnered a cult following owing to its distinctive story treatment but regrettably did not draw enough viewers for its streamer to revive it for another installment. Unless resurrected by another network opportunities of that are slim to none in the time ‘Daybreak’season 2 stands canceled.
