Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that one of Yuzvendra Chahal or Ravi Bishnoi will be included in the Indian side for the forthcoming T20 World Cup. Chahal was not included in India’s 15-man roster for the 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup. Which would be held on home soil. Since his debut in 2016, the 33-year-old has been a fixture in India’s white-ball lineups. And he took 12 wickets at the 2019 Men’s ODI World Cup in England.
“Yuzi Chahal is in a scenario where the Indian team maintains him with them for the entire year, but when a world-level competition comes along, they say. However, he wasn’t in top form versus Mumbai on Monday in the first match, but he will remain in focus,” Chopra remarked while anchoring JioCinema’s show ‘Aakashvani’. “One of Yuzi or Ravi will be selected for the Indian team for the T20 World Cup in 2024.” As a result, this tournament is crucial for both of them.
In addition to Chahal and Bishnoi, youthful pace phenom Umran Malik was on the list. Chopra stated that after catching the world by storm with his fire pace, the boy appeared to be lost for the time being. “Umran Malik’s story has been beautiful, but it has yet to be fulfilled.” It’s now stuck someplace. One had the impression that there was a bowler who would take the world by storm with his pace of over 150 km/hr, but he appears to be gone for the time being. He does not play often for his IPL squad.
“He got a chance in the West Indies, but he lacked sharpness.” His name was not on the Asian Games roster. You begin to wonder, “What happened to this boy?” So I’ll concentrate on him and see how the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy pans out for him. Arshdeep Singh was also on the list, and Chopra stated that the left arm pacers career hasn’t taken off. Arshdeep’s career began to rise, then leveled off, and now appears to be declining. There’s a sense that his career hasn’t taken off. What is true for Umran is also true for Arshdeep.
