New Delhi: CBI officers leave from Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s residence after 14 hours of raids in Excise case. 18 CBI officers came out in four vehicles after nearly 14 hours of raids. However, Manish Sisodia was not present in the CBI vehicle. The CBI has not taken them with them.
CBI has registered a case against 15 people including Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the excise scam case. Manish Sisodia has been made accused number one in this case. Excise officials, liquor company officials, dealers as well as unknown public servants and private persons have been named as accused in the FIR registered by the CBI.
These names are included in the FIR
The FIRs registered by the CBI include Manish Sisodia (Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi), Arva Gopi Krishna (then Commissioner Excise), Anand Tiwari (then Deputy Commissioner Excise), Pankaj Bhatnagar (Assistant Commissioner Excise), Vijay Nair (Former CEO, Only). Much Louder), an entertainment and event management company, Manoj Rai (former employee of Pernod Ricard), Amandeep Dhal (Director, Brindco Sales Pvt Ltd), Sameer Mahendru (Managing Director, Indospirit Group).
Apart from these, the names of Amit Arora (Director, Buddy Retail Pvt Ltd), Dinesh Arora, Mahadev Liquor, Sunny Marwah, authorized signatories, Arun Ramchandra Pila and Arjun Pandey have also been included in the FIR. Other eminent public servants and public have also been mentioned in the FIR.
Meanwhile, searches were conducted in seven states and one union territory, including the premises of former Excise Commissioner of Delhi Arva Gopi Krishna, during whose tenure the revised excise policy was approved, according to a CBI official.
Actually, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had recommended a CBI inquiry against Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on the basis of the Chief Secretary’s report. Two months ago, the Chief Secretary’s report had confirmed violation of GNCTD Act 1991, Transaction of Business Rules 1993, Delhi Excise Act 2009 and Delhi Excise Rules 2010. The Deputy CM of Delhi was accused of ignoring the rules in giving liquor licenses. After the tender, Rs 144 crore of liquor contractors was also waived off.
