Captain Arminder Singh Leaving Stepping Down From CM Position Is That A Signal Of Joining BJP Party

Congress Drama is not ending anytime soon in Punjab. After Arminder Singh resigned as Chief Minister of Punjab. It has been speculated that he might join Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

The intense buzz is increasing more and more after Captain Arminder Singh arrived at New Delhi on Tuesday.

Amidst an intense buzz over a meeting with the BJP brass that might be a precursor to an alliance, even as his visit was termed as a personal one to meet “friends”.

But even congress is keeping an eye over Captain Arminder Singh visit. The Congress camp is keenly watching former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Amarinder flew to Delhi from Chandigarh this evening, sources close to him said, adding he would be in the national capital for two days.

He is most likely to meet Sonia Gandhi. It will be a courtesy call. He wants to thank her for giving him the opportunity to rule the state for two terms and important roles in the party,” a source close to him said.

He stepped down from the position of Chief Minister of Punjab .Captain Arminder Singh is one of the most powerful leader in Punjab. But he stepped down from the post on September 18 2021.

“The thing is that this is the third time the party called the MLAs. You have an element of doubt on me. I feel humiliated,” he had told reporters outside the Punjab Raj Bhawan after submitting his resignation to Governor Banwarilal Purohit.

As soon as he stepped down from his post. BJP has been inviting him to join the party and take down Congress together.

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij and party national general secretary Tarun Chugh had invited Captain to join hands with BJP. Earlier, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale had extended an invite to Captain to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and said he should quit Congress which humiliated him. Speaking to ANI, Athawale had said that Singh can be of good use to bring the NDA to power in Punjab after the Assembly polls next year.

“I would like to ask Captain Amarinder Singh what is the use of staying in a party which has humiliated you. I request him to leave the Congress party and join the NDA led by Narendra Modi,” he said.

“Everyone in the NDA is equally respected. Amarinder Singh can be of good use to bring the NDA to power in Punjab (Assembly Polls 2022),” Athawale stated.

Clarifying the reason for Amarinder Singh’s visit, his media adviser Raveen Thukral tweeted, “Too much being read into @capt_amarinder’s visit to Delhi. He’s on a personal visit, during which he’ll meet some friends and also vacate Kapurthala house for the new CM. No need for any unnecessary speculation.”
