“Bridgerton”, Will Have Season 2 On Netflix?

“Bridgerton”, the new series from the successful producer Shonda Rhimes, is available on Netflix only as of Friday, December 25, 2020, but platform users and fans of the previous “Grey’s Anatomy” showrunner are already asking about a second season.

The fiction created by Chris Van Dusen has a cast made up of Julie Andrews, Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Jonathan Bailey, Golda Rosheuvel, Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, Adjoa Andoh, Ruth Gemmell, Luke Newton, Polly Walker and Ruby Barker, among others.

“Bridgerton” is based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels set in the competitive world of Regency London’s high society. According to the Netflix fiction description, Daphne is about to enter London’s’ marriage market ‘, but she wants to follow in her parents’ footsteps and marry for love.

However, as her older brother begins to take care of his suitors, a society magazine written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown begins to gossip against Daphne’s reputation. At that moment the rebellious and unmarried Duke of Hastings will appear, who like Daphne is reluctant to acknowledge that there is more than just good friendship between them. So will there be a second installment?

WILL “BRIDGERTON” HAVE SEASON 2?

Although neither Netflix nor Shondaland have confirmed a new season of “Bridgerton” the great success of the first episodes and the end of the installment almost guarantees that a second season will begin soon.

According to ‘What’s On Netflix’, the show was renewed even before the first batch of episodes was released. The reports indicate that the recordings were due to begin in the summer of 2020. However, due to the coronavirus they were postponed until March 2021.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, said: “I would love to go on that journey with her, to see how she has changed. I would really love to go back because I feel like we just scratched the surface. And because there is such a large cast on this show, there are so many more characters. I mean, I feel like we’ve established this great world, so I’d love to explore more of it. ”

Also, considering that the fiction is based on a series of books, it is clear that there is more original material to adapt. So Anthony and Kate’s gripping romance could be the focal point of the second season of “Bridgerton.”

WHEN WILL “BRIDGERTON” SEASON 2 RELEASE?

If Netflix renews “Bridgerton” for a second season, the new episodes will most likely premiere in December 2022.
