Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Movie- Hit or Flop?

The much-anticipated Bade Miyan Chote Miyan failed at the box office in India, grossing Rs 53 crore on a budget of Rs 350 crore – with star Akshay Kumar’s presence making little difference. Manoj Desai is pretty upset. The well-known producer and managing director of Mumbai’s G7 multiplex and Maratha Mandir is facing a problem: the cancellation of the afternoon show.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan grossed ₹15.65 crore in India on release date

In its first week, the film made ₹49.9 crore in the Indian market. On its release day, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan grossed ₹15.65 crore in India. The film had a 51.44% dip the next day, earning ₹7.6 crore. On the first Saturday, it collected ₹8.5 crore, indicating a moderate increase in numbers. On Sunday, BMCM reported an increase in revenue of ₹9.05 crore.

“Content is a big issue,” says Executive Producer Manoj Desai

He has spent 52 years in the Hindi cinema industry, where success and failure are both unforeseeable. However, he is clear that this is the most difficult time yet. And not without reason. “Let us be clear. “Content is a major issue today,” adds Desai. The first quarter of the 2024 calendar is complete. And the disappointment is visible: a limited number of hits. Desai was taken aback by the audience’s lack of interest during April’s several holidays. “OTT is already chewing our company up and if we don’t have good content, it gets even more difficult.”

Schools and colleges take a break, and a strong box office sets the tone for the remainder of the year. Girish Johar, a producer and film business specialist, notes that the public has the means to spend but lacks the motivation. Yes, people are staying away. The reasons are quality of content, high ticket prices, IPL, OTT, and the general election,” he argues. In his opinion, good material could have salvaged the day. “The movie was a poor picture and was a flop.” Bollywood needs to accomplish more things.
