Avani Lekhara Showered with Praise on Twitter As She Wins Gold Medal in Paralympics for India

Historic win for Avani Lekhara as she hits Bullseye and wins gold for India at Paralympics. This 19 year old became the first women to win gold medal at Paralympics. Avani Lekhara, who sustained spinal cord injuries in a car accident. In 2012, finished with a world record equaling total of 249.6, which is also a new Paralympic record.

Shooter Avani Lekhara created history on Monday as she become the first woman to achieve gold medal at Paralympics for India. “I can’t describe this feeling, I’m feeling like I’m on top of the world. It’s unexplainable,” an elated Lekhara said.

Her performance appreciated was appreciated by everyone .Not only celebrities by Prime Minister himself. “Phenomenal performance @AvaniLekhara! Congratulations on winning a hard-earned and well-deserved Gold, made possible due to your industrious nature and passion towards shooting. This is truly a special moment for Indian sports. Best wishes for your future endeavors,” Modi tweeted.

Calling it ‘ Golden Moment’ for the country. Celebrities took over Twitter to appreciate the young athlete and twitted on her win. Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal , Tapsee Pannu and many celebrated her win on Monday.

Avani Lekhara is a 19 year old wheelchair bound shooter from Jaipur. She fired her way to the top of the podium in the R-2 women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 event.

Akshay Kumar took over Twitter and wrote . Avani Lekhara had hit the bullseye with her win.

Vicky Kaushal on Instagram wrote what a ‘Star ‘. First ever Gold for India at Paralympics! Congratulations @avani.lekhara for this historic win. What a debut! What a star,” the Uri actor wrote.

Abhishek Bachchan tweeted, “A gold-en moment for India! Hats off @AvaniLekhara on becoming the first Indian woman to win gold at #TokyoParalympics.”

She’s  the fourth Indian athlete to win a Paralympics gold after swimmer Murlikant Petkar (1972), javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia (2004 and 2016) and high jumper Thangavelu Mariyappan (2016).

Kareena Kapoor Khan posted a picture of her in her story. And congratulated the talented 19 year gold medalist on Instagram for her epic and historic win.

Many celebrities’ came forward to congratulate  the young and talented Gold Medalist . Dia Mirza, Randeep Hooda and many other celeb.

Actor Arjun Rampal tweeted that the Indian staff has made everybody “proud” with its efficiency

Meanwhile, at the ongoing Paralympic Games, India has so far won six medals. Bhavinaben Patel won the first medal for India in Table Tennis. She bagged a silver medal. Nishad Kumar, Yogesh Kathuniya, Devendra Jhajharia won silver medals. Sundar Singh Gurjar won bronze for the country.
