Apple TV + Renews ‘Servant’ For A Third Season Before The Premiere Of The Second

The streaming market is hotly contested (and more so when HBO Max leaves the US and starts listing Warner’s 2021 releases), but Apple TV + seems to know how to distinguish itself from its competitors. Series like Dickinson or Ted Lasso has joined the serial conversation in recent times, leading to a premature renewal, and the same has happened (perhaps more forcefully) in the case of Servant: the horror series created by Tony Basgallop that has M. Night Shyamalan as executive producer and occasional director.

The second season of Servant will arrive on January 15, and just under a month after its premiere, the company has already confirmed its renewal for a third season. A clear symptom of Apple TV + ‘s confidence in the product, which starring Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell and Rupert Grint has dazzled its audience with a most creepy argument and with the house brand twists. There is no date for the announced third installment, and in this new batch we will witness the incorporation of Nina Braddock (The Sinner) to the writing team.

As for Shyamalan, the filming of Old, his enigmatic new film, was recently completed in the Dominican Republic. Loosely based on the French comic Sandcastle, Old has Gael García Bernal, Eliza Scanlen, Rufus Sewell, Vicky Krieps and Alex Wolff in its cast, among others. It is scheduled to premiere on July 23, 2021.
