Alia’s Life and Family

Alia Bhatt is an Indian actress who majorly works in the Bollywood industry. Born on 15 March 1993 (Present Age: 28 years old) in Mumbai, she is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan. Her father is a filmmaker and her mother is an actress in the Bollywood industry. Alia Bhatt attended the Jamnabai Narsee School. While Alia was growing up, she did not share a close bond with her father.  Soni Razdan (her mother) raised her children mostly as a single parent as Mahesh Bhatt did not take much interest in the lives of his kids.

Alia has an elder sister Shaheen Bhatt. She has two step-siblings, Rahul Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt.

Her Career

While rehearsing at a school choir in kindergarten, Alia realized that she wanted to become an actress. At the age of 5, Alia featured in her father’s production venture Sangharsh (1999). In the movie, she played the short role of the younger version of Preity Zinta’s character. In 2012, Alia landed her first leading role with Karan Johar’s film Student of the Year. She starred alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan in the film. Alia played the role of Shanaya who is a teenage girl involved in a love triangle. For the role, she had to lose 16kgs.

In 2014, she worked in Imtiaz Ali’s road film Highway. In the film, her character is a lonely teenage girl who develops a strong bond with her kidnapper after being abducted. Even though the film did not perform well commercially, her acting was widely appreciated by critics. Later that year, she did films like 2 States and  Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. 

In 2015, she did two films Shandaar and Kapoor & Sons. However, the former was an ultimate disaster. The latter film was a successful film. Alia Bhatt had established her name in the industry. In the following years, Alia featured in films like Udta Punjab, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Dear Zindagi, Raazi, and Gully Boy.

In 2018, Alia Bhatt started dating Ranbir Kapoor. She was just 11 years old when she met Ranbir Kapoor. Rumors are rife that they are planning to get married in December. However, there is no confirmation from either Alia or Ranbir from the same.

Previously, Alia had dated her Student of the Year co-star Siddharth Malhotra. Also, Alia Bhatt is the endorser for a number of brands and products, including Maybelline, Coca-Cola, and Garnier.
