Akshay Kumar is an Indian actor, film producer, martial artist and television personality. He is one of the most versatile and talented actor of Bollywood. He is known for playing different types of role specially patriotic and comedy roles.
Biography
He was born on September 9, 1967 in Amritsar Punjab. His original name was Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia. His father was a government employee. Akshay grew up in Chandni Chowk Delhi and than spend most of his childhood there. He was very active as a kid he participated in various competitions when he was in school. Later he went to Bangkok to learn martial arts and also worked there as a chef. When he came to Mumbai he started his own Martial art school. One of the students at his school was a photographer and told him to go for modelling . Akshay earned 5000 by just posing for camera for 2 hours. Than he decided to become a model . But faith had something else stored for him and while modelling he got his first movie offer. His first movie was Deedar which was directed by Pramod Chakravarthy.

Akshay dated both Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty two of the top actress of that Era. Than later he fell in love with Twinkle Khanna and the couple got married on 14 January 2001.They have a son, Aarav who was born in September 2002 and a daughter, Nitara.

Career
Akshay made his Bollywood acting debut in the year 1991 with the film Saugandh. In the year 1992 he again starred in the film Khiladi. In the year 1994 he acted in his first action film, Main Khiladi Tu Anari and then Mohra which were the highest-grossing films of the year. Later he signed Yash Chopra’s film Yeah Dillagi it was a big success as well. He received his first nomination for the Best Actor Award at the Filmfare and Star Screen ceremonies. Later, in the same year, Akshay acted in two films, Suhaag and Elaan which were also successful. Akshay was climbing the stairs of a fame and popularity.
Than he even played the role of a villain in Ajnabee. The film won him much acclaim as well as his first Filmfare Award for Best Villain. Then he played a blind man’s role in Aankhen.
His versatility has no limit he kept on playing varieties of different role. Akshay Kumar role has so much versatility that fans were expecting nothing new . But than he surprised fans by playing roles in movies like Rustam, Holiday and Baby. He is currently one of the most loved and talented actors in Bollywood his acting skills are beyond imagination and can very well portray any type of role with ease.
