Adipurush, the second most awaited film of this year after Pathan, is releasing in theaters this Friday. After initial hiccups, it now looks like the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon film is set to create a tsunami at the box office. At least the booking figures are pointing in this direction. On Tuesday, the country’s leading multiplex chain PVR Inox Cinemas said that one lakh film tickets have already been booked. ‘Adipurush’ is directed by Om Raut. Apart from Telugu, the film will be released in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi on June 16.
In the film, Prabhas is in the role of Lord Ram and Kriti is in the role of Sita. Saif Ali Khan will also be starring as Ravana at the same time. Devdutt Nage portrays Hanuman in the movie. Adipurush’ is released in 2D and 3D formats. However, due to the Hollywood film The Flash, screens could not be found in IMAX format. Bookings in India started on Sunday. However, bookings have already opened overseas. By Friday, the film had collected $16,000 in bookings in Australian and Netherlands markets.
Talking about the film
Now, if we compare this with Pathan, the highest grosser of this year, the picture comes out like this. A day before the release of Pathan, more than four lakh tickets were booked for the first day. Then trade experts had estimated that the film could take an opening between 45-50 crores. Pathan, which hit the theaters on January 25, did a net collection of 57 crores in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film was released in these three languages.
Adipurush still has Wednesday and Thursday left. In such a situation, the film still has a lot of time. The eyes of the entire trade are fixed on Adipurush. The reports of films released in theaters in 2023 are not very good. Except for a few, almost all the films have been flops. Adipurush has been given a U certificate by the censor board, due to which the film will get a family audience. The length of ‘Adipurush’ is 179 minutes, which means the film is almost 3 hours long.
