Netflix series ‘The Stranger’ has become a binge worth 8 episode mystery drama for the viewers as a result the audience wants another season of the puzzling drama which is based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name. But the question is are the makers really wanting to create another season? The series has a rating of 7.3 on the IMDB’s website and it first aired on Netflix on 30th January 2020.

The Stranger Cast

As the cast for season 2 hasn’t been announced yet, we presume that the show will continue with more or less the same cast as season 1.

The show includes Richard Armitage as Adam Price, who is the main protagonist, Hannah John-Kamen in the titular character of The Stranger, Siobhan Finneran as Detective Sergeant (DS) Johanna Griffin, Jennifer Saunders as Heidi Doyle, Shaun Dooley as Doug Tripp, and Dervla Kirwan as Corinne Price.

The Stranger Plot

This series narrates the story of Adam Price who encounters a woman(the stranger) with a baseball hat, she reveals to him that his wife Corinne Price had faked a pregnancy. When Corinne hears about what Adam learned she mysteriously disappears after texting Adam that she needs some time to herself.

The search for Corinne is the central theme of the story along with the stranger revealing deep secrets to people often devastating them.

By the end of the show, it is revealed that the stranger is a professional blackmailer named Christine Killane who blackmails people for money. She is the daughter of Martin Killane who had killed his wife who was Christine’s mother. Another twist in the show reveals that Christine’s actual father is Ed Price, therefore, that makes her Adam’s half-sister. She revealed the secret to Adam only to save him from a dishonest wife and hence, did not charge any money.

The Release Date

The author of the novel Harlan Coben had quoted that “We don’t think it’s fair to have one of those shows where they don’t give you all the answers, and you have to wait until season two before you get it,” Coben said. “This is a closed story. You learned all the answers by the end, and the ending is tremendously satisfying.”

It does seem the show has pretty much run out of material to adapt and therefore and the second season is highly unlikely to come up anytime soon.
