The hit Anime Prison School managed to garner quite a great deal of positive reviews after its initial period with a 7.75/10 according to over 352,308 votes. That’s some really great news for fans because it means that the possibility of a second season is much higher. But are we getting the second season?
Prison School Season 2 Renewal Status
First things, first, the J.C.Staff studio has yet to announce any news about a renewal or a cancellation. The standing as of today is pending. However, the probability of a second season is quite high given the show’s general popularity and the fact that there is still a lot of stories to tell. The very first year wrapped up in September of 2015 but didn’t cover all of the stuff in the manga. On April 6, 2018, the 28th chapter has been released. So, there is a story to tell but after 5 decades one has to wonder if J.C.Staff gave up on the project.
After Tsutomu Mizushima, the director of Prison School and SHIROBAKO was contacted by Naoyuki Uchida, a writer of horror and mystery books, about Another season on Twitter he responded with:

“Thank you for seeing always since SHIROBAKO! I really don’t know about the 2nd season. I want to do it, but… (ashamed face emoji)”
This conversation occurred in 2015 so a lot can change since then.
Prison School Season 2 Release Date
Since the series has yet to be revived there isn’t any release date yet. However, if the series has been renewed we can anticipate a Fall 2021 release. We will keep you informed about any new information about season 2 that comes our way.
