While the show mostly is all about these teens taking life a day at a time, the focal point remains a 17-year-old teenager, Josh, who along with his team of misfits, embarks on an adventurous expedition to find his missing girlfriend, Sam, in the wake of a nuclear explosion that has wiped most of the populace.
Created by Brad Peyton and Aron Coleite, they shameful comedy-adventure series celebrities Colin Ford as Josh Wheeler, Sophie Simnett as Sam Dean, Alyvia Alyn Lind as exceptionally unstable kid genius Angelica Green, Austin Crute as contemplative samurai Wesley Fists, Cody Kearsley as Turbo Bro Jock, along with Matthew Broderick as Michael Burr in the central roles. When the show hit Netflix in October 2019, it was met with mixed reviews with a mostly positive response. This is what we know about daybreak season two!

“We learned last week that Daybreak won’t be returning for a second season. We’re so sorry we couldn’t discuss it with you sooner but also thankful that we got to hang out at these last few live-tweet sessions with you,” read the article. “Thank you for picking up that which we set down, for working with it in all your amazing, bizarre, monstrous ways, and for being such a significant part of this series and our experience which makes it.”
He added, “No one is as heartbroken because we are we can not discuss more of the ride with you. But we’re so grateful to have gotten to deliver it this way. Thank you for riding with us for your voices, for the enthusiasm, your memes, your fart jokes, and you’re unashamed mad. We’ll see you on the market.”
Regardless of being a promising coming-of-age narrative with enough potential, the show is sadly axed just following a one-season-long run. The close of the series follows the recognizable Netflix strategy of twisting down reveals after comparatively short lifespans. The show garnered a cult following owing to its distinctive narrative treatment but sadly didn’t draw enough viewers for its streamer to revive it for one more installment. Unless resurrected by another network chances of which are slim to none at that moment ‘Daybreak’ year 2 stands canceled.
