Pathaan eyes "Baahubali 2" box office record

As it enters its 21st day in theaters, the action-packed drama Pathaan featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, appears to be on track to break even more box office records.

Rewatch makes the box office to surge

Shah Rukh Khan’s fans showed their adoration by flocking to theatres to rewatch the movie. This resulted in a surge in box office collections. The movie had witnessed a drop in collections on its third Monday. But it rebounded on Tuesday with a 35–40% increase in collections.

Huge collection for Pathaan on V-Day

According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, the SRK movie raked in Rs 5.65 crore on Valentine’s Day. This took its total domestic net collection to approximately Rs 480 crore. With two days left in its third week, the movie’s total for the week has surpassed Rs 38 crore. It is a notable accomplishment considering that only Bahubali 2 has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in its third week. It will be interesting to see whether the film can surpass the highest-grossing Hindi movie to date, the Hindi dubbed version of “Baahubali 2”. This has a total collection of Rs 510.99 crore.

Before this movie breaking its record, Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” was the top-grossing Bollywood film. That film earned Rs 46.35 crore in its third week. It also ranked the third-best 3rd-week earner. “Pathaan” is likely to break “Dangal’s” third-week record as well.

The movie will encounter real contest from Shehzada and Ant-Man in this weekend. Kartik Aaryan has demonstrated his power to draw moviegoers to cinemas in large numbers, as evidenced by his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. If his film’s success is replicated, it will be a challenging journey for Pathaan to reach the Rs 500 crore mark.

As of Monday, Pathaan’s net box office collection was reported to be Rs 493.25 crore. Yash Raj Films also shared that the film’s worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 953 crore, with Rs 360 crore coming from international markets. According to Box Office Worldwide, the movie’s global collections crossed Rs 960 crore on Wednesday.
