The Process Of Indoctrination
In The Meadows, all the young girls of Operation Utrax are suddenly released. Unlike their old medical establishment. The new location gives them colorful dorms, fictitious families, access to social media. And the ability to socialize with other people. However, unbeknownst to them, this is all just a simulation of social organization to help them learn more about life in the real world. As announced in the previous season. Utrax has always intended to send these girls to the real world. Thus, it deliberately allows them to act like normal teenage girls since it will help them disguise themselves as ordinary people in the real world.
For most girls, Utrax is in control by replacing ideas they previously had about family, religion, and friends. But for Hanna and Clara, the organization struggles to establish any control. Since they already know that they have lost their families. For them, the organization is therefore trying to fill the void in them who need a family instead of replacing it. And so, even after learning that his father died. Hanna finds some solace in The Meadows.
Why Was Utrax Targeting Tacitus?
Hanna and Jules are given their first real-life assignment. Where they expect Hanna to put her experience in the outside world to good use. After decoding them, Terri deduces that Tacitus is a Barcelona-based military lawyer named Robert Gelder. What Is Pioneer Group?
In Barcelona, Hanna also meets Stephen, a man who works for Marissa. Stephen explains that what is now known as Utrax. Previously consisted of a small group of national radical dissident cells within an agency called The Pioneer Group.
He tells her that he remains today one of the few members of the group who did not follow the wrong path. And so, like Hanna, he wants to stop the first operation of Utrax. Hanna teams up with Stephen and the two set out to stop the murder of Robert and Nicola. Unbeknownst to them, Jules keeps an eye on Hanna and discovers their plan.
Hanna Season 2 Ending Explanation
Because of Jules, Stephen’s plan to save Nicola from interception fails. To cancel the other part of the mission, Hanna travels to Barcelona, where Clara and Sandy attempt to intercept Robert Gelder. Hanna reaches out to Clara and tries to convince her that Ulrax is useless. But Clara simply dismisses her, saying they aren’t supposed to question the organization. And focus on serving their nation. It’s only when Hanna convinces her that her mother is still alive that Clara’s vision changes.
Via Kat, Robert’s daughter, Sandy deduces the location of the hotel room where Robert is staying. With this, Clara and Sandy set out to complete their final mission. That is, kill the lawyer before he exposes Utrax. Clara hesitates, but Sandy covers up her blunders by ruthlessly killing Robert. However, before he dies, Robert comes into contact with a journalist named Alba. She collects a document from one of the hotel staff. This document contains the secrets of Utrax.
At the end of Hanna Season 2, Alba dies, but Hanna gets her hands on the document. This document finally reveals that the list of murder targets of Utrax is made up of lawyers, activists. And other potentially influential experts from different fields who could later make a difference in the world. Most of the people mentioned in this target list are under the age of 18, and all are under the age of 30.
And this is the reason why the existence of Utrax was a secret all this time. They wanted to unethically eliminate a younger generation of leaders because it would allow them to take over the world. And, of course, for a mission like this, adolescent girls who have been brainwashed their entire lives are ideal candidates.
Why Doesn’t Marissa Denounce John?
All this time, it’s John’s fault that Robert found out about the mission. As a flashback revealed, John once got drunk and told the lawyer all about the secret motives of Utrax. But instead of unmasking John, Marissa takes control and blackmails him to lead them to the higher powers of the Pioneer Group, who ordered her to lead Utrax.
The end of Hanna Season 2 sets the stage for another season where Marrissa and Hanna will now take down those who run the evil Pioneer Group. Clara is unlikely to join them as she travels to Egypt to finally meet her mother.
